Default The rewards of being a hunt

Venison meatloaf. We eat deer meat year round and love it.

Regular hamburger doesnt taste good to me. Have most my meat done in hamburger witha little fat added in.

Looks Good Dan, but you said you "have most my meat done," as in you don't process it yourself??? If not, I think you're missing one of the more fun parts of the kill, and a part that I've enjoyed almost as much as the kill. This past year, I showed 3 different friends how to butcher a deer, and all of them said they'll never pay someone $65-100 again to butcher a deer. I even make my own trail bologna after I process them......This batch has sharp cheddar cheese and jalapenos mixed into it!!!!

Looks great guys! My family loves getting together to cut up our deer. Like OHbowhntr said my family enjoys processing our deer as much as harvesting them also.

This upcoming season I finally have someone who is going to show me and my brother how to butcher our own deer...I'm interested to see how much more meat we get and the difference in taste...though our butcher has done a great job, like you said $100 or more is getting kinda ridiculous
