One of my setup improvements this offseason is going to be switching from the whisker to a drop away arrow rest. I'm thinking of going a rest made by QAD. Here's my question:
-They make a drop away for $60 that seems like a bargain. They also make a rest for $135 that has 'lock-down' technology where your rest is guarunteed not to bounce back up after falling.
This is the only feature that I THINK is the difference, besides the warranty. Is this feature worth it? I might be answering my own question here, but it seems more and more in this hobby that you get what you pay for. I'm sick of buying a lower priced item only to have to replace it a year or two later with the more expensive product I was considering buying in the first place....later finding out that the more expensive version was built to last. (Fishing reels and broadhead targets are my two instances that stand out most in my mind...I'm trying to avoid this with drop-aways)
I use the one with the Lock Down feature. It works very well. I'm not sure why they make the other one, I think that was the first model before they introduced LD.

QAD Ultra rest hunter- The cheap one.
QAD Ultra rest Pro LD- Expensive one without the dampener in it.
QAD Ultra rest Pro HD- Expensive one with the dampener in it.
I have the LD and it is kind of noisy but not terrible. The HD is a little quieter but not much so I didn't switch to it. WCL
