Default TOO MANY BOW CHOICES

Guys...

Wow... I went from a Black Ice back to trad gear last year and now have to go back to the compound (the recurve was wrecking my arm)

I want my BI back but sold it...

I have heard a lot of good about the Iceman...BUT read about one blowing up on a guy (http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showth...a3dbb5&t=33975)

I went and shot it anyway - very impressed... but a little worried now, and I read on Cabelas forum that the Iceman has troubles with blazers ? Any truth ?

Id like to hear others opinions because if I dont get an Iceman there are way too many good bows out there to go shoot.....

I really want smooth.... as I have a lil arm issue and shoot heavy arrows....

Thanks fellas...

Shoot an Elite Z28 if you want extreme smooth and fast. Plus gr8 resale with the Elite lineup

Why don't you get another BlackIce? They are a great little bow. I believe they run about $100 dollars cheaper then the Iceman.

Bad shoulders/arms? I'd personally stay away from *most* binary cams- Elite, BowTech or otherwise.

I'd def reccomend the new Ross Carnivore series- it's like nothing else on the market smooth- very "old school soft cam" with decent speed. Also the Ross Cardiac singles, Quest singles, Bear Truth II, Diamond Marquis/Nitrous, Hoyt Superhawk and Martin MOAB.

I second the ross canivore almost as smooth as my justice with the freedom cam but faster.

I will second the truth 2 if I had the money for any bow I truly believe that would be the one I'd shoot. I will say that the Ross cardiac was sweet it would be on my short list.

Get another Black Ice. They come with a built in STS now and a great new finish. I have tried many of the new bows and the Black Ice always feels better to me. Hard to beat that grip and draw cycle.

If you are looking for something with a Smooth draw then the Ross Carnivore is definitely a keeper. The Black Ice is no slouch either.

The Iceman is a nice bow and I wouldn't be worried about a problem, but does not compare with the 2 previously mentioned bows in the smooth department

Default RE: TOO MANY BOW CHOICES

I just spent a week in Virginia visiting my daughter and while I was there I had the opportunity to meet up with SwampCollie at his shop. I also am worried about injuring various body parts now that I'm getting older so here's my opinion for what it's worth. I already have a Diamond Justice because of how smooth it draws but I've been toying with the idea of getting a faster bow in a lower poundage.

The bow that I wanted to shoot first based upon what I've been reading here was the Bowtech Captain. This bow is as dead in the hand as everyone says. It's a totally awesome bow but a little harsher drawthan I'm looking for.

I then shot the Admiral anditwas more comfortable. I guess that I'm just used to the feel of a shorter bow. As much as I'm totally intrigued by the center pivot design, it doesn't seem to lend itself very well to my search for a fast bow that's easy on the shoulder and elbow. If I was twenty years younger I'd have to buy one.

At Andy's urging I tried a drenalin, we just put the two BT's away at that point. I didn't care for the grip, but I assume that they can be changed. If I found one of these used for the right price I can picture myself shooting one at 50#.

The best for last. I WANT A HOYT ALPHA MAX 32!!!!! This bow is just freaking nice. Lower it to 50# and you can shoot it all day, raise it to 60# and you have the power to kill anything, althoughI'm sure that 50# will do just as good. The draw is absolutely smooth and the shot is super quiet. I'm going to start selling anything out in the garage that's not bolted down on e-bay to raise the money for one.
