I shot Recurves then Compounds for years with fingers. On the compounds I shot a cushion plunger with a Golden Key 2000 I believe it was called?
IMHO if you shoot a compound I think you would be much better off learning to shoot it with a release properly. After a year you would be glad you went this route.
Modern Bows are becoming increasingly hard to shoot with fingers. 2 things that are not good for shooting fingers is low holding weight, and short A to A because of the finger pinch.
On my "fingers" bow, I shoot a Nap Center-rest, it's been what I've liked the best, I know a Whisker Biscuit is also a rest a lot of finger shooters like, and Bo-Doodle makes one that that I've seen more than a few guys shoot as well.

I agree with the ATA but explain the other thing Dan.
To answer the question of the OP, I used a flipper rest when I was still shooting a compound. I hated the thought of a release so I never went that route.
wow, thanks for the help. I've looked up all the rest posted and I've got to get the peep changed its all set up for a release...maybe I'll put a rest on and shoot it with my brother's release..see if I like it...I used to beat my friends at the 3d meets useing fingers...I figgered I could allway shoot with my fingers...you can't forget to bring them along...thinking of all the times I forgot a knife or flashlight, I'm sure I'd be in a tree looking for my release lol

Steve, IMO the lower holding weight makes it harder to get a clean release off of your fingers.
Instead of snapping off, it will have a tendency to roll off.
