Default String let me down

I was pumped this last week to get in my blind and try to take a turkey with my bow. The day before I was shoooting some broadheads to fine tune my new Apex sites, and with the third shot my strings started to seperate, and then by 4th shot were breaking. They frayed up real bad and am not going to risk it. Im thinking Winners Choice but someone referred me to Rock Solid Strings....anyone ever heard of them? RocksolidStrings

I would highly suggest you stay away from him- (RSS) There has been a long ongoing major problem with this guy taking peoples money and not sending any product. He has screwed not only customers but (former) friends and his staff shooters as well.

Man, you need to do a search on Archery Talk about Rock Solid. They've had a lot of bad press lately about getting months behind on orders and some not filled for as much as four months or so. I've used WC's and they are good, but you can PM a couple guys here on this site and get strings just as good for quite a bit less money. One is MeanV and I think he handles Vapor Trail strings. The other is Gibblet and he makes strings under the brand name Bucknasty. Both have very good following and are noted for superb customer service.

I have not used Vapor Trail, but have and am presently using Bucknasty strings and they are of the highest quality. Every bit as good as the $140 WC's on my one bow.

Vapor Trail strings and cables are as good as it gets and I am currently running a special.

PM me if you are interested.

You're always running a special.....

PM me if it's better than usual, I may want to get a set for the new Ultra 38 I picked up.

Seriously, I have VT strings on a couple of my bows and they are GOOD strings at a GOOD price, in all honesty, better than the WC strings I had.

Thanks for the input. I was getting some things at Dicks and was chatting with one of the guys behind the counter and he suggested Rock Solid Strings, even told me to tell them he referred me to them.

Dan, I will pm you shortly. having a pig roast and kegger on saturday and will have to wait for my next paycheck!

I was in Gander Mountain the other day getting a new Tom decoy and the guy at the archery counter told me they would string and tune my Hoyt for $40 plus price of strings. I may just end up ordering Winners Choice and letting them do it. I've never had it paper tuned or even put on the chrono, so that will be interesting.

Here's my advice...stay as far away from Rock Solid Strings as possible.

H&M Bowstrings have a good quality product at a great price.
