Default How many have had success with deer hunting out of a blind with a bow.

I gave it a try last year. Could have shot a doe or two. Actually did let a ten year old shoot a doe with his gun out of this set up.

You can see the stand in the tree behind the blind. I have had many deer walk right under me in this stand.

Just dont think blinds work that good for deer.

Here was my set up. I do admit on cold windy days it was great place to be.

for some reason i have never had success out of one, the deer will stop around 45 yards out and just stare at the blind, i would even cover the blind with natural stuff from that spot, i guess they seen the black windows cuz i for sure know they did not see me

My blinds are spots were a few dead trees feel around each other. I just get a few dead branches that have a lot of limbs on them and pile them around each other in a way so I can lay other branches on them to make a blind. Then once the season starts I just put some leaves in between the branches so it makes me more hidden.

It only cost me some time and it stays there until the limbs rot and fall apart. Always a nice place to sit when I know a deer will come through.

I killed a doe from a blind last December, a couple days before Christmas. Thats the only one from the ground.

The last 4 bucks I have taken have all been from a ground blind. The deer range from 140"-170". I get them out a couple months before the season and let the deer get use to them.

Thats for sure. It takes leaving them out before the deer really get use to them. Im also wondering how your scent works being on the ground.

Ive taken two bucks off the ground, let several walk this year, and killed some does. No problems for me

I shot my 05 contest/birthday buck out of a blind. I was actually turkey hunting when he pushed two doe by and still having my buck tag, bingo!

I don't utilize a blind often for deer, actually rarely as I prefer a treestand for the view.

I've killed both Mule Deer and Whiteails out of a blind. IMO if you can't totally hide it, leave it in the open.

I think a blind can actuallyhelp contain scent. At least it has seemed that way to me. I prefer a TreeStand, but sometimes, & some places a blind is a very nice option.
