Default beginner question

Thinking of buying a compound bow and Dicks has a bear showdown available for $199. My draw length is 28.5" and the archery is 29" with a draw weight of 70 lbs.

I know the bow can be adjusted but no one at the store could tell me if the advertised draw lengths and weights are the minimum, maximum, or somewhere in between.

I assume there is a standard setting when advertising bows?

goto the bear website and look at that particular model and see what it says...im not familiar with bear..

careful buying from that place...prices are usually a little better because they are rebuilt...i personally would buy it from a bow shop so i knew it was new and not something that might blow apart when im shooting it...

The DL on the Showdown is adjustable between 25" - 31". The DW peaks at 70lbs and go as low as 60lbs. This bow has a huge BH of 8 3/4" and would make for a great bow to get into the sport. I don't know where you are finding it at for $199, but that is a heck of a price, my shop sells the bow naked for $299 and a package for $429.
