Default G5 Tekan II heads

Again not looking for a mech vs. fixed debate, please take it elsewhere. Just looking for some info on these mechs. Had a few people mention them to me along with the Rage and Undertakers/MS.

Check your regulations, I'd love to use them and have messed around with them a little. However, here in MN, the qualify as a "barbed broadhead".

I use them. I havent got a deer personally with them but my buddy has and it created a great wound channel. What i like about them is they shoot just like a field point and everyone i know that has used them, says the same. The only thing about them that is annoying is that when stalking, if u hit it with a twig or something the the blades have a tendency to open. If you stay in a tree stand then this doesnt matter. Other than that, they are a solid good shooting head.

Hmm..I'll have to check into the legality. I think my shop sells them.

Anyone else used them??

Great broadhead. Have loved the performance since the first day I got them two seasons ago.

The tekan II's were great mechanical heads, the newer and "improved" Tekan is not so much. The tekan II's have a larger tip and slightly smaller cutting diameter wich allows for better penetration and a more durable head. The newer tekans have a smaller tip and larger blades which tend to break off on hard impacts, and they don't seem to stay closed as well.

Don't use them!!!!!!!!! I've had my own person experience of them going all the way through a deer and not opening up at all. Then this winter a good friend of mine had the same thing happen. I also believe there was a couple of thread of guys on hear saying the same thing. I think if they get any condensation or any moisture on them when it is cold out they will not open on occation. If they do open they work great though. Just won't take that chance. Moved to slick trick and never going back to machanicals.

Used them in 2007 and killed a 10pt with it. Really good internal damage, complete pass through at less than 10 yards, arrow went another 20 yards past the deer. Not exagerating, but the deer sprinted maybe 25-30 yards and collapsed. I was impressed.

DONT WASTE THE MONEY!!!!!!!! i almost lost the buck of a lifetime with this broadhead this past season! i ended up chasin the buck down with minutes of daylight left, and no bloodtrail, and jus a judo tip in my quiver... you figure it out. the judo did more damage than the tekan.
