Default Bigpapa's Dream Season 2009

After 7 years of hunting I have finally decided to put down my trusty Ruger and give 100% of my hunting season to my under used Bowtech. Call it a new years resolution. I'm making this my own personal dream season. I'm going to give it 110% of my effort. I have already turned down two job offers which would have given me a great pay raise but would have degraded my season due to time restraints. As the phrase goes "I'm all in boys!"

I have a great spot of land about 38 acres. 1/2 wooded 1/2 pasture. Two fresh springs start and run right through it. It's mostly hardwoods with plenty of cover. No other hunting pressure except myself.
If it's cool with you guys I'm gonna use this Thread to log my personal 2009 dream season. I'm well on my way I think. I've set up 2 stands in good locations and this week will set the 3rd and final one.

Check list:

Deer Stand #1..................Done
Deer Stand #2..................Done
Deer Stand #3
Deer Stand #4
S-coil...............................Done
Ripcord arrow rest.......Done
Tru-fire release.................Done
Gold tips
Sight
Tuning
Block
UV Blocker
Sport Wash
Range Finder
ASAT Suit
Slick Tricks (6)

As I get items done or purchased I'll check them off. When I go to set this 3rd stand up I'll take pictures so you guys can critique and give feed back of course. So as for now am I missing anything on my list???

Here is the land I'll be on. The funny thing is the picture is pretty much the lines of where I can hunt.
I'll edit the pic tomorrow and list deer movements and stand locations.

I put my rifle down back in '79. It's been bow for everything, since then and I haven't missed that rifle since.

Yah on private land and you are the only one hunting I could see putting the rifle down. I know you said you are gonna give 110% to this years hunt but would that entail sitting on those 2 stands on 32 acres the whole season everyday, I think it might not take all that long to burn up and booger that land for the year, you might want to take it a step at a time and keep staying fresh.

Here's the skinny on their bedding area (observed). Staging area before going to the field (observed). No it's not enough land to hunt like crazy. I hope to be able to move from stand to stand never hunting from the same stand in a one month period. I'm not sure how much I can hunt it even with that much stand alternation without them feeling pressure. I have to be careful of that. I will probably shoot for only hunting once a week if not every other week but never the same stand twice in a row. What are yall's ideas on that.

Putting up stand 3 either Thursday or Friday. Gonna stop by home depot to pick up a pole saw. I need to trim just a tad around stand 2 and I might as well do it the same day I put up stand 3. I have a problem with stand 1 that I think I found a solution to. The tree that I put stand 1 on is HUGE but it's in a really good spot. surrounded by smaller trees. Got it all set up and then tried to strap on my safety harness and the strap is about a foot to short. I think I'm going to get a pull strap (kinda like a ratchet strap without the ratchet) and use that to attach my harness. I would use a ratchet but I don't want the clicking. Anybody have any ideas??

hope youve got some alternative land to hunt. im no expert but if your gonna hunt that as mush as you say , you may wanna stay in one stand a few sits at a time. thus the deer sortof start patterning you and got in another area where your not. then you can jump in a stand in that are ?

of'course rule # 1 of bowhunting ( deer shouldnt know your comin and goin if your doing all right )
