Default Need some opinions

I was thinking about replacing the vanes on my arrows and I am looking for the longer ones but am unsure as to what brands are good. I have only been shooting a bow for about a year now so I still am learning. If you guys could give me some helpful opinions on new vanes for my arrows I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

When I shoot vanes, which isn't often, I prefer Duravane LP-400's.

If you are wanting to change to fletching that gives you more control and forgiveness try Feathers.

Well at the moment the arrows I am shooting are carbon express Maxima 250. What would be the best vanes or fletchings to put on these arrows?

I shoot that arrow and I have Fletched them with 4" feathers, 3" feathers, Razr feathers, Blazers, and QS Speed Hunters ST.

All with Good results! I just prefer the feathers over vanes.

Low profile Duravanes are awesome! Add some helical, and they are super awesome!

This past season I had 4" feathers and 2" Blazers grouping together. This way I did not have to worry about foul weather and messed up feathers. In good weather and low wind I used the feathered arrow. In poor conditions I nocked a Blazer fletched arrow. I killed all 3 deer with a feathered fletched arrow this year. One with the same arrow after cleaning the arrow, feathers and replacing the blades.

Feathers are alway a good choice.

I've used Blazers for many years now flawlessly.

This year I'm fletching up some arrows with 2" Fusions by Duravanes as well as some 2" Vantecs.

Using a hard offset or helical is the right choice as well. Never fletch straight.

One more question, what is helical and are there any brands of vanes or feathers that are better than others, and what do u mean by never fletch straight? Sorry about the questions, new to all of this. Thanks

To answer the above question
Quote:
what is helical
it is a slight twist or curve in the fletch to spin it more.
