Default Rangefinder help

Hey all im lookin to get a rangefinder(cause ever deer i missed this bow season was cause i misjudged range) and want some opinions. I definitely want one that has the inclinometer for the bow hunting, and also has some decent range on it for gun hunting. Im really looking for one under $300. So let me know what u think or what rangefinder you have and if u like it, thanks yall.

I like the Bushnell Scout, small, 6x magnification, and works well.

I didn't get angle compensation b/c we don't have large elevation changes and I think it only makes
about a yard difference for me. With a rebate and through Wal-Mart it was very cheap. You can get
more bang for your buck without the angle stuff.

If price is not a large consideration, the Leica is easily best in show.

Nikon pro staff 550. It doesn't have the angle compensation, but at around $200 it seems like a quality rangefinder. I just got mine about 2 months ago and don't know why I didn't buy one sooner.

I have tried them all and the Leica is in my opinion the best. With that being said I own the Leupold with angle compensation. It works well and even has internal adjustments for the bullet type and speed you are using. Same thing for the bow. It is almost to damn smart. The only beef I have with it is that it wont range a black target. I hunt a lot of hogs and they are usually black. So I point it at their feet.

I've got the Nikon 440 ragefinder. Great little unit for $200, when I use it.

I have owned both Bushnell and Nikon. I now have a Bushnell Yardage Pro. I don't have the Arc and really don't think it matters in 99% of Bowhunting scenarios, but.........................

If I was buying new I'd probably get itbecause it sure won't hurt anything

I have the Nikon 440, and I highly recommend it. It's very light, compact, and portable. The newer 550 model can be had for a little over $200 , whereas you can find the 440 for under well under $200 mostly second hand. Your call. I believe I remember Matt (Rick James) mentioning that the 440 will shoot fine through mesh whereas some people had trouble with the Bushnell's, so if that's the case, and you hunt out of a blind at all, you might want to take that into consideration.

Picked up a Nikon Riflehunter, basically a 550 with angle compensation. I got mine for 235 from Dicks as it was a display, so you might be able to do somewhere under 300 for one. It works great.
