The deer woods go to sleep
 
While I was sitting in my tree standwatching the sun go down this evening, I was thinking how beautiful the woods can be even when you're not seeing any deer. This is just another example of why I love to be out there, so I thought I'd share thiswith everyone.:)

I agree early! After working hard, it feels good to watch the sun set and to walk out of the woods in the dark with a sense of pride.

I couldn't agree more. Some of my favorite moments/photos this year had nothing to do with deer.
Here is a recent picture on an afternoon hunt where I saw few deer and none within bow range.
I watched these guys for well over 30 minutes. Pretty cool stuff,IMO

After that, I could have really cared less whether or not I saw a deer or not.

Yes, Early it is nice to be sitting in the stand when the sun is coming up or going down.

I love just sitting in the woods whether hunting or not, during the winter, I will go out there in my camo and just sit there and watch.

I was thinking that this morning watching the sun come up. Of course, the fact that I then saw over a dozen deer didn't hurt:DNo shots taken, but what a great morning to be out.

BTW, are you hunting in one of my stands?:DThat is nearly the exact view from the stand I hunted this morning.
