I have not experienced myself, but watching my Grand Dad go through it, I can tell you it was not a fast process for him.

He did his therapy just as the Dr. ordered and worked hard on it. In time he was as good as new. Actually better!! The Knee was stronger and the Pain was gone.

Hang in there, and best of Luck!!

Dan

My uncle is about 70 yrs old. He had both of his knees replaced. As far as I know he is doing great. I don't know how long the rehab was or how much pain he had. All I can tell you he said the second one was taking a little bit longer to feel good but he was walking (and hunting) great.

Good luck!

It all comes in time. Keep doing your PT and you should be fine. 5 weeks is not a long time for recovery for that operation.

Oz---I had both acl's in my knees replaced in college. Each operation took me 8-9 months to fully recover. I would say 5 weeks for that type of surgery is a short time. Take your time, be patient, and know that you are doing the right thing and will be better than ever in the long run.
