Default Rangefinder

What range finders are people using out there? Interested in good experiences and bad.

I have owned Nikon and Bushnell. I currently have a Bushnell Yardage Pro, and it has never let me down. I preferred it over the Nikon.

If I was buying new I'd probably buy the Bushnell with Arc. I don't think it helps much in Bowhunting, but if you are buying new you might as well have it.

I've got the Nikon 440's. I don't really use themas much as I probably should though. Usually if I'm hunting a new stand site I'll check a few reference objects (tree, stump, bush ect..), but that's about it. Twenty or so yards isUSUALLY pretty easy to judge.

Same one.

I also need to use it a little more, and learned my lesson this season...
Story ~ If you can imagine my set-up, I had a lock-on tree stand on the edge of an oak flat.
I am nestled into a Hemlock patch about 40 yards up from a swamp edge. I had two occurrences
where a Doe and Fawn would run in front of me to bed on a jetty in the swamp. So I took my climber
about 80 yards across the oak flat and picked the perfect tree. Like clock-work, the two deer came out,
as I anticipated, and waited to get a shot on the big Doe. Stupidly, I never range found the new spot,
as I forgot it in my truck and quickly realized how bad I miss-judged my shot distance. It was approximately
10 yards from what I thought and I watched my arrow miss underneath her belly by an inch. At this distance
my arrow drops approximately 8". Sha-Zam ~ a clean miss ~ Oops! Hopefully you could learn from my mistake?

I use the Nikkon 440 to get yardage on new stand sightsto treesor land marks to know ahead of time before the deer comes in.

I use 10 yard string and mark out every 10 up to 50 yards, sometimes 60 depending on my surrounding. I bought a rangefinder once and returned it the next day.
