Default Are you an inventor?

Has anyone ever thought about submitting an idea for a hunting product?

I've had a few ideas that I think would be good.

More of a "MacGyver" than an inventor. I'll cob my way out of a pickle when I need to but I'd rather just buy the proper gear and not need to. But as they say; "Necessity is the mother of invention."

I've got a couple of products on the market. DO NOT go to one of those inventers sights to submit your idea they will stab you in the back. That's what I heard. Get it on paper and get it notorized. Then get some samples made up after you get the bugs worked out. Call a lawyer and get the paperwork started for a patent. just my .02 take it for what's it's worth.

Your best bet is trying to develop it yourself IMO. Because an idea is just that. Once you pitch it to someone who's to say they give you nothing and use your idea anyway.

Document as best as possible and try to get a prototype built. then you have something. Also you can then apply for a patent. but all that cost money...

I have invented stuff only to see it on the market shortly afterwards. Not stolen, just someone else had the same idea before me.

I actually built a prototype of a tree hanger shortly before they hit the market.

I have a couple prototypes here right now for a product that if after testing proves to do what I think it will,I might go to the trouble of getting a patent but not sure if it will be worth it on this particular product, atleast not for the masses.

Actually, believe it or not, my dad an I had drawings made up for a safety harness built into a traditional vest (sound familiar). Seriously, though, it wasn't more than a month or two after that when the first integrated systems started showing up in Cabela's and Bass Pro. We were planning to pursue a patent, but somebody had the idea in play well before us. That's how it goes, I suppose.

I have had a great idea for years. I am just too stupid and broke with three kids to put it into action. Trust me, it would improve our practice sessions.

I get ideas on improving products all the time. But I'm sure most people do. Just takes money and time and I don't have the money. Always thought of contacting the companies and mentioning it but I'm sure I'd get nothing out of it.
