Default All the hype; disappointed

I went to the Hoyt dealer and shot the AM 32 yesterday. Cam rollover was still like my old Trykon, a rough bump b4 the wall, and I expected smooth like my Guardian or my Tribute? I can see the bump before the wall roll over in my 82nd, but it is a speed bow, and expected. All the hype for the Alpha Max left me disappointed. Just my honest opinion. My feeling on these bows with the harsh hump is that on a still, very quiet day, that game could hear the bow bust into the backwall. I know I'll catch heck for this opinion of mine in what a premiere hunting bows draw cycle should be like..but oh well. I am sure I am in the minority..on AT it is the bow of the year and dang near beat out Obama for president(wish it had) I just expected so much. My Guardian and Tributes draw cycles have spoiled me.

Not what i have experienced at all. Especially compared to my 101st, or general. Not saying you arent feeling it, but i think the thing is smooth like butter compared to most of the bows ive shot. the way i can tell the best, is when letting down. My 101st felt like it would take your arm off if you let it down, while the AM goes down way easier.

Regardless, i always seem to adjust to the draws, regardless of how smooth or harsh so it really doesnt matter to me after im used to the bow.

Not bashing you here at all, just stating my experience just like you are.

I don't really understand what you are feeling because I have a bad shoulder and the bowtechs kill me with the hump at the end.The AM series are stiff and do get stiffer right at the end but there isn't a hump that I feel. The humps really hurt me and I shot mine today for several hours. It does kinda crash into the wall a little more than I like but not really bad, especially for a hunting bow.I would not choose either the 32 or 35 for a target bow.

BUT,with modules, there will be a different feel for everyone between the 2 and from draw length to draw length.

Is it possible they had the draw stop peg in the wrong hole? That could creat an issue with the draw cycle.

I have to agree with TFOX about it being a stiff draw. It is stiffer that the BT's but the hump is WAY different IMO. I still think the Admiral should be the top hunting bow of the year though. For the size, speed, etc, i personally dont thik it can be beat. It is nice and smooth, short, and speedy enough to get the job done.

I just wonder how efficient it can be at shorter draw lengths.I was glad to see Hoyt have 2 cams to go with the module system.Allows for better efficiency at shorter draw lengths.

Maybe someone that shoots 28" or shorter can chime in with numbers,or pm me to avoid a hijack.

I just wish you'd have bought it first...then you'd be looking to sell. 29" 60# is right up my alley. I like the bow. The draw is stiff, but smooth....and I mean smoooooth. To me it feels like it just steadily draws then bam, all of the sudden you are against the back wall.

I agree the draw is stiff, which to me means it feels like a heavy draw, but I just can't fathom how someone would call it a rough draw. To each his own though, a single bow isn't meant to fit every archer in the industry.

You won't catch any flack for your opinion on here though, not enough Hoyt shooters to amount to anything. Now diss the Admiral, and you have another thing coming.[>:][8D]

I will have to admit,I liked the draw cycle of the Katera better than the AM,but the Am is an absolute shooter with plenty of forgiveness to spare.
