Default Definately worth the time and effort.

check out the "Deer Telemetry Project".
First University sponsored deer "range" study. How often and how far a deer moves, and when. Not completed yet, but the results as-of now are amazing.

Looks like advertising to me. Your in the wrong forum. Huntingnet.com......... especially the bowhunting forum is quite strict......... looks like your trying to lure us away to anew site. I don't need it. I have huntingnet.com

I'm not trying to lure anyone away from anywhere. If you don't want to look at the information, don't, but do not patronize me because you think I am unloyal to huntingnet.

The guy who posted the study, Justin Thayer, is a grad student I go to school with at LSU. I didn't tell him where to post his study.

FYI, that forum sucks.

Then post his studies not another forum. READ our rules....... you just broke them. I recognize what you are trying to show us but give me a direct link to his studies rather than a forum link. I will read them then. If he is credable then he should have them on the net elsewhere.
Or tell your buddy to post it here where he will have more views.......... honestly with the membership here, he would be better off.
Not trying to patronize you at all. RESPECT........... TopDawgWoofWoof

I think it's worth checking out. I find the core area/home rangeinfo very interesting. http://www.bayoubucks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=314

This is the second telemetery study I've seen that has the deer's home ranges being much smaller than a lot of people think.

Sandilands, while your right, we can delete posts for linking to other sites. I only really do it if it's a blatant attempt at recruiting HNI members or competing with this site.

Linking for info or pictures is generally okay. That site isn't really competition anyhow.

Agreed. That's why I posted it.

Just curious, where did you find the other telemetry study?

And just for the record, since Justin is doing the survey under the supervision and funding of LSU, all of the study has to be "officially" reported through lsu.edu. The study isn't over yet which is why that is the only site that he has posted on. It does not infringe on his contract.
