Default This afternoon's hunt ruined!!

Once a month I get off at 3 pm on Friday and of course, I head straight to the woods. I hurry and change, sign in, and take my bow out of the case. I notice a small black piece fall to the ground. I picked it up, looked it over, looked at my bow, and my case and saw nothing amiss. Next, I grabbed my climber and headed to my spot.

Once I get in the woods I'm greeted with fresh deer poo and a "scrape"...more of a pawing of the ground than anything. "I'm pumped!" [8D] I climb up the tree and get all settled in and pull up my bow and my pack. Once I knocked an arrow I expected it to lay on the riser since my bow is laying across the rail of my Summit. I knew something wasn't right when my arrow didn't lay down on the riser. DING! Light bulb went off. That little black piece was slide from my cable guard! [:@] As Ron White would say..."That spun me in to a whole new level of pissed off!" Perfect afternoon and I'm in the tree with a non-functioning bow! [:@] Luckily I was able to get it fixed so I'll be back at it in the morning!

I am sorry to hear that but am also glad that it was something simple and you got it fixed so you can get back out and at it.

You may want to invest in a small fishing tackle box and put some of those necessities in it for spares. I keep a string loop, peep sight, arrow holder, nock, insert, hot melt glue stick, lighter, and spare cable slide for my hoyt in my box.
