Default I lost weight and QUIETED down.

Pretty excited; I just got these in the mail today, Utility Constricter Ropes, rated for 3000 lbs. They will be in the field tommorrow. 1 1/2 lbs lighter carry weight for the 6 sticks I carry into the field than the factory straps and 1 ft longer(7') Oh yea, no more clanking buckles.Soon myLWsticks are going to be silenced totally with rubberized spray on undercoating and I will have the quietest sticks in the lower 48. (A buddy and I are actually considering buildinga high quailtyaluminum climbingstickandpatent the rubber undercoating idea and use these type of ropes; backoff LW; my idea). These are pics provided by the builder of the ropes. Enjoy.

Those have been around for quite awhile now on AT. I saw them and liked the idea, just don't have a usage for them. Be sure to do a full report after using them.

So I'm guessing the rope slides into itself somehow from looking at the pics for adjustment purposes?

And you carry SIX sticks in with you? What on earth for?

I am 6'3", long legged, and I still feel it takes 5-6 steps to get safely 25-30 ft up. Yes, the ropes slide into itself similiar to how a prussic knot tightens when a load is placed against it. Same exact rope setup as used in the tree hopper linesmans belts, but a higher grade and higher quality of rope according to the manufacturer.

Hollow outer rope with smaller inner rope...when pressure is applied to the outer rope, it stretches tight against the inner rope, preventing it from slipping (sort of like prussic knots, not in design, but in how it moves freely until pressure is applied and then it cinches tight) the inner rope slides freely in and out allowing you to adjust length....my only concern is it seems like it would be really hard to ever get these bad boys cinched down tight enough against tree, perhaps it isnt needed.

They are like those things found at kids fairs...you stick your finger in just fine, but when you try to pull it back out it just cinches down tighter on you, the more pulling force the harder it pulls back.

The guy on AT patented them a while back and is selling them now, forgot his name. Username starts with a Z though i think.
