Default Another Canning Question

We are canning one of the deer that my family got this year, and we were wondering how much water to put into an 8 quart pressure cooker? Cause i hear pressure cookers aren't a thing to mess around with and i don't know to have it blow up on us or something. Thanks guys

Default RE: Another Canning Question

I put about 3 1/2 quarts of water in my 15.5 quart pressure canner. I would put about 2 quarts in yours. The more water, the more it helps build pressure and you also don't want it to go dry.
