Default help me understand

How does one pull off to the side of the road, get out of truck, grab shotgun, and start walking onto land he has NO idea who owns or is hunting there? I seriously would like opinions on the thought process of such an individual. I mean what goes through their brain at that particular moment? "This looks like some nice land i'll stop here and hunt it?" "Maybe there are deer over there let's get out and check it out?" I really just don't get it. Am I making too much of it? Is this normal? I've about had it up to my ears this year (more than ever) with incidents with orange people. How about get off your lazy *&##()$%*)#*$)*#$)^*#$)^* butt, gain permission to hunt your own land, scout, stands, cameras, etc.... instead of driving around the block jumping out of your truck at every block of woods. There I feel a little better. Not much but a little.

They are trying to save themselves.

My neighbor got in his blind and a dude was in there. They had a 5 min conversation before he let him know he was in his blind on his land

We used to have major issues. Here is what I did, I called the DNR everytime and got a few busted. Here is what happens, poachers hang out with poachers So once word got out we call no matter what, our issues are all but gone.

I have been called a few names, but who cares[8D]

Absolutely right. The nicest guys you'll ever meet in the woods(usually) are the ones you bust for tresspassing. And 9 times out of 10, the first words out of their mouths will be strait up poop.

I'm tracking a deer...You've owned this for HOW LONG? I've hunted here for years...The line is up there, isn't it?...So-and-so said I could come in here...

1 encounter in 21 years.

I was walking to my stand and noticed someone in one of my stands on a field edge. I approached him. He said he was from out of town and hunting with his brother for the weekend. He said he just must have got confused by his brothers directions on getting to the stand he wanted to put him in (which is actually understandable). He apologized every way possible and started packing his stuff up. I told him to just stay put it's a good stand and a good wind for it. Told him to watch to his back and left they come from the bedding area behind him. He ended up shooting a doe that night. He and his brother stopped by our camp afterwards and thanks me and my buddy for letting him hunt that stand. We had a couple beers and I cooked some backstraps. The whole ordeal ended up opening up another 400 acres of land the next year and for years to come. Those are the kind of encounters I can stomach.

How about guys cruising around semi rural suburbia at first light scoping estate and farm residence driveways(some which are half a mile long) with custom air guns that shoot arrows, shooting P&Y bucks on the regular, while you sit in a tree waiting for those same deer? There's a whole secret society of them over here where I hunt. Thankfully the local police depts. are starting to get into deer management and are patrolling a lot more looking for jerks like this.
