i Know its not bowhunting, but you know the deal. i know you guys best. found him at work last night with a compound fracture on the left wing. brought him to a Raptor Rehabilitator this morning. he will lose the wing but hopefully will survive and be a stud(breeding program) this thing is so frickin cool! picked it up , held it, VERY mellow bird.
As some one who worked with Raptor Rescue program and does some falconry with my father, i give you a big thankyou! Thankyou for taking that owl to get rescued, and I hope he has a good life even with out a wing.
thanks again.

That is great! I had the chance to rescue an owl a few years ago as well. I walked around with my head & spirits high for the next two days until I got the news that it had died. They did an autopsy on it and it had internal organ failure which they theorize was due to it flying into a tree. Like deerandbearhog stated, it does feel good. Congrats on a great job & hope you got a bunch of pics for the memories.
