Default Using a decoy?

So I've never used a decoy before, but im hunting a new property and I can see and hear the deer walking deep in thick stuff that I cant get into. I was thinking of putting a doe decoy out in the hopes it would tempt the big boys to come out and take a look. What are you thoughts? Is this the right time of the season? Any tips/pointers?

I've never used one. But I think the fact of the matter is...a buck in the right frame of mind..on the right day.. during full rut? He's gonna check it out.

If he sees it, he will want to come check it. But...getting them to see it when they are in thick stuff isn't gonna be easy.
