Default What the heck, Ill post a little buck

When it rains it pours. Russ (Kanga) and I went out hunting this last weekend. Thur. night before the hunt, I was out loading up my truck when the door on my office slamed on themiddle finger of my draw hand. It dislocated it pretty good, so I pop it back in place and wrap it up thinking I might be able to pull back a light recurve. I try several times and just cant do it. So I pull out the old compound so Ill have something to hunt with. It has been quite a while since I shot my compound, so I pull it out and inspect it. Low and behold, the Muzzy zero effects that was on it hasdeteriorated
to the point it broke in half where the turkey spur is. It appeared to have had some type of oil set on it which denatured the polymer it was composed of. So I pull out an old Nap rest I had, put it on, and retune the bow.I make sure I can draw it with a wrist strap release, which worked out fine. I shoot the bow a while to make sure it is all on. Friday comes and I head to my cabin to meet Russ. We get a early nights sleep so we can be out bright and early. Sat. morning, saw several deer and a few hogs. Sat. afternoon about the same. And on Sunday morning, I tagged a decent 9 point out on the river. He would have been an 10 point except he had broke off the end of his right main beam. I thought of letting him walk till it hit me that I'm running out of time. Not sure if ill be able to get back out and hunt agian this year and wanted to make sure Igot my third deer in the freezer. I was not going to post this guy, but thought what the heck, since the story is more interesting than the deer. When I got home Sunday and started cleaning the deer, my finger just keep getting worse and worse, so I went to the hospital for some pictures. Turns out the dislocation was not the only thing, it was also broke just above the knuckle. All and all we had a good time.

Super nice buck. We'll call him the 'broken finger buck'.

Thanks everyone. He had a nice body, that is why I dropped him. He did suffer from "rack envy" though.
