Default archery buck with the g/f

first of all i want to say hello, ive been reading these forums for a few years now and finally decided to join!
so here is the story, it was only the third week of archery and being my first year of college i dont get to be in the woods as much as i'd like to be but i have thursdays off, so anyway its the third thursday of the season and after an unsucessful morning hunt i asked my g/f if she would like to tag along for an evening hunt since she will be rifle hunting this year and loves the woods as much as i do, i set up our stands in the same tree around 2 in a spot that has always been a big doe producer and i was hoping we would be lucky enough for them to come through this night.
it was starting to get late and still nothing was moving but squirrels when all of a sudden i can feel my girl tapping my tree stand and pointing towards our left. i look over and a nice 4x2 walks right infront of us starts feeding but was very nervious and kept looking back, about 10 mins later this guy came strolling in to twenty yards and turned broadside. the shot was a little to far forward but blew through the back side of both shoulder paddels and only made it 50 yards and pilled up! before i could say anything my girl was jumping up and down and highfiving me! even though we saw it go down and i could see in my bio's he was done for i made sure we gave it 30 mins and told her we never climb down right away so we dont push things. walked up to him and she was estatic!
well needles to say this hunt couldnt have been any better! she is so excited for the first day of rifle to open up and try out her new .243 on something "bigger then my buck"

sorry the pic isnt great we didnt get him out till after dark and i had to snap the photo on my phone
