Default Tarsal Gland strategy during rut?

I cut off the stinky tarsal glands from the 2.5 year old buck I arrowed last week. I froze them. I was wandering if any of you use tarsal glands during the full blown chase phase of the rut? And if you do, what are your strategies? Do you heat the tarsal glands up and drag them into your stand or do you just hang one upwind of your stand? Thanks all.

Good question that I too have been meaning to ask. I cut them off the buck from last week and intend to use them, but have to kill another doe before going after another buck. Looking forward to the replies.

Navy, the only thing I am worried about is that a buck may actually try to steer does away from the scent so as to protect his girlfriends? That is just a randomn thought I had....another thought is if I am hunting an aggressive buck ( I would not know) that it may entice him to come meet his competitor, which is what I want. Not real sure what to do.
