Default Wisconsin Rut

I'm hunting just north of Holmen, WI (Western WI). Anyone else think that this rut sucks? I've sat 2-3 days every week for the last 4 weeks and seen very little movement.

I hunt SE of Holmen in Monroe Cty and would have say the same thing. It's been a frustrating rut so far with very little movement....even the does are uncooperative. I have heard from many of my buddies that they are experiencing the same thing. I've logged quite a few hours in the past 2 wks...taken time off of work and have not seen a single buck let alone seeing one chasing, grunting, etc. This is not a typical WI rut I believe.

I hunt in polk county 1st-7th we saw some shooters but couldn't connect ever since then we have not seen a deer. Is it just breeding and the weather that keepthe deer locked down ? Iam going back out the 20th hoping to see some movement. How good is the post rut in wisc?

I think the combination of standing corn and a very bright moon DURING the breeding kept daytime action down this year. Very slow year around here also....especially quantity wise. I believe we are now past peak breeding here in St. Croix.
