Im torn guys.help what did I hit??..update..MAYBE theres a chance??
I shot my nicest buck to date this morning and cant find it after probably a mile of tracking(700-1000yrds)!! I used this pic below as a referance of where the shot hit(same quartering away angle)?? The arrow made a loud crack sound and buried up to the the last 4-6inches of arrow. I felt great about the shot, but the proof says otherwise...??
You may have cliped a little of the shoulder meat but that shouldn't have made a cracking sound... To me it looks like you got one lung from the pictures above. If it were the bottom picture where you hit the deer you could have hit the neck bone to.

hmmm....maybe 1 lung and far shoulder??? i cant believe it went that far though? from a stand? how high? how far was the shot? how did the trail look??
2-3-4 inches back would been ideal...
you can see the near shoulder in that pic pretty well...and with that much penetration, you didnt hit the near one...

16ft ladder stand 28yrd shot! No blood for the first 30yrds then it was a spot or two every couple feet for about 200yrds only bleeding out of the entrance side. It went up a small steep hill and bled like and absolute pig, then when it leveled off after 15yrds or so it went back to a spot or two every few feet again!! This is how the whole tracking job went for the whole what seemed like a mile!!! He never layed down once, I gave him an hour and half before tracking!!???? Then the rain started!!!!![:@]
looks like a lung probably both a littly high for the hart. How long did you wait before you went looking? what did the blood look like? (dark red usually means liver foam means lungs)
