Default A perfect end to the first season in MI

Well after sittng all day in the rainand seeing nothting but little bucks, I ended my season the perfect way.

I pulled up to the bank and docked my boat. I took the first battery out no problem. I grabbed the second, slipped a bit and did a header right into the river[:@] Soaked head to toe, I just sat in the river and laughed

Saw 4 bucks, not one chasing a doe. The moon theory blows in my woods[:-]

On a brighter note my grunt call showed up today[&:]

Haha! I swear someone is trying to tell you to stop hunting. So this year you fall out of your stand, got hit by a falling tree, and fell out the boat into the river. Did I miss anything?

Well, I gave it a chance, and yes, that moon concept does blow!! I knew it wasn't going to make any difference. I did another dark to dark hunt today, I saw NOTHING!! ThisHAS been the "2008 Rut That Wasn't". I talked to another hunter in my area who puts his time in, and he said he believes there was no rut.
I have not seen one singlebuck chasing a doe at all this year. I know it wasn't the warm temps because we had similar temps last year and saw plenty of rutting activity. The rut isn't going on much at night because I'm in my stand an hour before first light, and I'm not hearing any chasing going on in the dark. Therutting moon made zero difference as well. I have no idea what's happening this year!!!

If the action was actually down today then the moon theory is right on the money as the first does would be in estrous and the big bucks are locked down with them leaving the dinks to roam.

That's great, but I have yet to see a big buck
