On a cold NE morning I set up on a new stand in my climber and two buck came in on me and I could not get a good shot at 20 yards. Watching were the buck went to I moved my stand to try to get a better shot if I see them again and to get more cover around me in my climber. That evening Nov, 12 .I could see down the draw about hundred yards and one of them was coming a cross the ditch but, started off away from me. I got my bleat call out and call a couple of time and lost sit of him. I keep looking that way and all of a sudden he showed up again and was headed in my direction. The buck would disappear than appear again. Than walk out by me at 25 yards I came to full draw and shot. The 400 axis arrow disappeared through his side leaving a big whole right be hide his shoulder. I could see the arrow sticking out of the ground. He took off and I could see him run about 150 yards down to the ditch. I though to my self he must not be a double lung hit are he wouldn't"™t of went that far. Most double lung hits I make them only go about 60 yards are less. I waited about ½ hours and got down and retrieved my arrow. There was very little blood on the arrow only around the 2 inch blazer vanes. I started to track him and he did notstart to bleed for about 30 yards and than a blind man could have followed it. He crossed the ditch and ran up a big steep hill for about 100 yards and made it to the top and down to the ditch on the other side. I found him down the ditch dead. He had covered about 450 to 500 yards. After looking him over I had hit right behind the paddle bone going in and came out dead center of the paddle bone on exit. My 70 lb Black Ice , 400 axis arrow and 100 gr. G5 montec had done it again complete pass though as it has ever times before. Only this time through the paddle bone and still passed though it like it was a peace of cardboard and stuck in the ground. I can"™t believe this buck had ran this far and that there was every little blood on the arrow but, a ton of blood on the ground. Crazy
