Tonight/Today(11am-darl) I sat in my treestand on the NE corner of the property on the neighbors fence line...Saw tons of deer and several good bucks...1-140-150 9pt and 1-160-170 10pt...Both of those deer and many others all crossed the clover field I was on and went into the neighbors neer my ground blind(appx 20yds away)....I sat tonight with my decoy out...Every buck I saw was cruising looking for action but didn't have a lady yet!! My question...I plan to sit the blind in the morning/all day..same wind as today...But would you put out the decoy or just let nature take its course...I like the decoy but sometimes it can buger some deer up...What you all think...This is just North of pike county..
Is it a doe decoy? If the bucks are looking and havent found a doe yet, I'd put it out. Have the doe face away from you since the buck will circle to the rear.
Spray it down real good with scentkiller and throw some doe in heat on it or near it.
if those deer went right by your blind i might be inclined to leave nature alone. but then again the rut is nature and there is no gaurantee those bucks wil come back the same way, so a deke might help
