Wow, what a weekend.Anyway I set up on a little pinch point on a bean field. I put old Boss out there to go to work. Seen a few does, and 2 other shooters but nothing in range and it was pretty gusty. Niether of them could hear me calling. About 20 minutes before dark the wind layed down, which was perfect. Looked out across the bean field and there he was, I had no idea how he got out there without me seeing where he came from but he was there.
He was about 200 out walking away. I gave him the old snort wheeze and his head snapped around.
he stood there staring at boss for a couple minutes. I did a quick burst with my antlers and he came on a string. He got hung up about 90 out I gave him a couple grunts thats all it took. The last 60 yds he was doing the gangster lean, walking side ways all puffed up. He circled around the backside, then tried to center ole Boss up. He was about 3 yds from running the decoy over when I gave him the rage 2, spined him and down he went. I have never had a hunt goes as perfect as that did. We all try to stick to a plan, and although we may be succesful it doesn't always match the plan we had. This was exactly how I imagined it to happen. If you have never hunted with a decoy, you have to try it. Thanks for all the good reading fellas, I have learned a lot from ya'll. Sack punches are indeed warranted, pictures are coming.
