Default Is it to late?

My wife got a bunch of apples to make homemade apples sauce with and some are going rotten. My question is, is it to late in the season to try and put apples out near my tree stand? Will this spook them away.if i do put them out should i do it when i go out in the moring to hunt or wait untill i am done and then put them out.Any input will be helpfull.YES it is leagl to bait in ohio.

my deer love the apples, they wont care what time of year it is they will come in till they are gone

In ky they loved them year around i would eat 3 or 5 apples a day and through the left over stuff out they ate it every time. I bought a bag at a store that started to rott in the end of nov through all 10 pounds out the next day they were gone.
