I have heard nothing but good things about them. I wanted to know what everyone liked better the 3 or 2 blade. Also im new to mechanicals and was wondering if 270 fps bow will be enough speed for them. Thanks for any input.
The ONLY "kick" I have on the rage heads (and I have only used the 2-blade....and taken 10-11 deer with them) is the lack of a total pass-thru with the head. I typically get an entrance and an exit wound.....but I "RARELY" get a total pass-thru (2X, I think).
They must eat up a LOT of energy as they make their path through. All I can figure out.
I think your 100% right about that. The more surface area the more friction. So it will slow a lite arrow down.
I'm sure the pass through people are using a heavier stick maybe

I use the 2 blade and have taken 4 deer, 2 spine shots and 2 pass thrus, both heads are just as deadly as any fixed head I ve ever used. I shoot 280 fps and do fine with them.

The ability to get close to game remains the essence of all bowhunting today.
I have been using Rage three blades for the past two years and love them! I shot three deer last year and had one pass thru, a spine shot, and one that stuck. This year ive shot two doe so far and i had one pass through and the other stick. Out of all the five deer i shot with the rage none of them ran farther than 60 yards.
Ive shot 9 deer with them in the past 3 yrs. Four with the 3-blade and 5 with the 2 blade. Id go with the 2blade because to me theyre more durable and easier to replace blades on. Ive had only 3 that didnt get a total pass thru. 2 of those were spine shots and the other was an extremely hard quartering away shot were the arrow pretty much went threw the whole deer. I shooting 382gr @ 302 fps. Havent had a blood trail that i had to actually stop and look for yet
