Default This Freaking Wind Won't QUIT!!!

Got up this AM and still windy. Calling for NW 5 - 15 all day. I can't sit out another day. My son is here and we're going out anyway. Haven't seen any deer moving for 3 days, due to the wind? He has to go back to work Tuesday, so today and tomorrow, we're going to try our dangest.

Good luck to all.

5-15 is not all that bad in the woods. Good luck.

I would love to have that for the wind. yesterday I was out for 8hrs in 18-30mph wind. I got my 2 biggest bucks in 20-25mph winds. During the rut I'm out there no matter the wind.

Good luck!

Mark, gusty wind (mostly the wrong direction) has been an issue almost every day for me for the last two weeks!! There's only one thing I HATE more while hunting than wind, and that's heavy rain.[:@][:'(][>:]I rely on my ability to hear the deer coming from my thicket because when they emerge, they are already within bow range.
The yearling I shot last week was literally 5yrds away, over my right shoulder, before I heard the leaves rustle! It helps having the heads up.

I DESPISE HUNTING IN THE WIND!!!!!!!!!

5 - 15 my arse! The wind blew hard the whole time! Mike saw a buck and doe @ 85 yards. The doe headed west and the buck went east. Him and I both froze. Warming up before going back out.

i hear ya. i've been getting in my blind to stay out of the wind and then yesterday on the way back to the house i had a spike standing underneath one of my stands. but i sure as hell wasn't getting in it with a 30 mph wind. i keep thinking bout your post about looking down and seeing the tree roots.

This wind does suck...but it will not keep the bucks from doing what they do this time of year. Get out there and enjoy the tree rodeo.

Tree rodeo, funny! I shot one of my beter bucks a couple of years ago in a heavy wind. It's funny, I had to lead him and he was standing perfectly still!
