OK, Today was the day. I have placed three stands in the this woodlot that I have been hunting for some time now. The stand I have hunted for years (and had no stand there) I called Ole' Faithful since I have shot the majority of my bucks from this stand. Anyway, I have hunted a stand I call the Fence stand since it is about 50 yards from an old fence line.
So as I have been hunting this season, all the deer sign (rubs, scrapes, andlots of deer tracks) has been showing up almost everytime as I walk out. Now these two areas are only about 80-90 yards from one another. So after this mornings hunt, I decided to move the Fence stand back to Ole' Faithful. As I was hanging the stand, a small 4 point walked by..
giving me a sign of "OK this is going to work"
So tonight was my first time in, around 4:45 I gave a few bleats from the Can followed by a few grunts and a couple roars from my Primos Buck Roar. Immediately a small 6 point shows up from the east. As I am watching him he is looking west and guess what shows up....GAME ON !! This small 8 pointer comes in and right behind him is the buck we call the BIG 9.....
Well as they stand off on one another, the BIG 9 turns and wouldn't you know it...walks right away from me towards my fence stand[:@][:@]...anyway I was able to watch him for about 10 minutes as he stood probably 15-20 yards from the tree I was in this morning..go figure ..
AM I THE ONLY ONE THIS HAPPENS TOO ??
