Well I Have been reading all the great articles in the forum for the last month. Just wanted to post a story of my own. Went in the woods early nov.3 been hunting my buddys house for the last 6 yrs,and have got a couple real nice bucks out of there. I havent gotten one since 2004 season. Saw a few small bucks early in the season but always the first week of november seems to be the best. First light I heard some crashing behind me turned around and 2 nice small 8 pts. come running full steam . Tried grunts and estrous bleats, no way these boys were stopping. Within a Min a Monster 8 pt. comes the same way after to other 2 bucks. God **** my pants and its only 7 o'clock . Grunted and bleat and no stopping this train either. 30 min later a nice 7 pt comes through the pines 40 yds away. I had put some code blue standing out in the morning and he was walking straight down wind of it. Gave a few bleats and some grunts and he is heading up the path 12 yds from my stand. Well after seeing a few big boys and not getting a buck for a few years didnt know what to do. Decided to take a shot seeing my wife is dieing for me to make some jerky. Well 7 pt. stopped 12 to 15 yds let go off my arrow and thought a made a good shot, Heran about 20 yds and just stopped,I was looking at him through my binos and could see some blood dripping off him, All of a sudden this Monster 8 pt. come through the pines andknocks him right off his feet. Couldnt believe my eyes,away the 7 pt .goes and boss buck is still crusing keeping his woods forhimself.Sat for a hour or so and my step son Paul came up to meet me went and looked with very little blood. Knew he ducked my shot and i justgrazed the top of his back. All of a sudden we hear this crashing and2 bucks jump for the golden rods and big boy is chasing them. i pull out a grunt call give him a few and thought for sure he saw us and they all took off we sat on are knees for 5 min lookingwithwide eyes. All of a sudden big boy comes crashing threw the golden rods gruntingand full steam right at us we drop and freeze i pull back my bow Paul makes a loud grunt he stops and my only shot was his lower neck,by the way he is 10 yds from us. I let go and i hit him good. Not my way to shoot but what to do in that situation. I feel over and looked at the sky and couldnt believe what just happened. Looked over at Paul and he was froze. Dont smoke while i archery hunt but have a pack just in case. well i smoked 2 back to back still with my heart pounding.We sat for 30 min or so looked were i Shoot,blood and fur everywere. He Didnt go 15 yds. Arrow was threw his lower neck and out his butt.... Hit main vain heart and lungs. What a Day.
We need pics. Man law violation WTG on getting him. What ever happened to the other one?
