Default Spooked buck??

I wasfilming for my friend and we had theawesome 160 inch 10 come in to 15 yards but because of some limbs he couldnt get a shot. Anyway the buck looked up but not directly at us for about a min. He then turned and bounded away and blew. The windwas blowing the opposite direction. Idnt thinkhe smelled us i just think he did what big bucks do. Is this set up busted for a long time? When shouldi hunt it again??

Well just because he didnt look directly at you, doesnt mean he didnt know you were there, he sensed something was wrong and warned others when he took of and blew. Id say give the stand a few days to cool off, maybe put some enticing food there if its legal for your area if youre not in a CWD zone.. 3 day harvest seems to really realx the deer from what I have noticed. I just havent had anything big enough worth shooting moving in my area yet. But that should change soon.

My personal rule-of-thumb is that if I can see the deer's eye, he can see me. Their eye and skull structuresare specifically evolved to provide a incredibly wide field of view. he probably did see you - at least enough to know that something didn't look right. I would give it a few days and switchtrees - if feasible.
