Default For those that get pic's of deer out of the stand!!

Hey Guys,
I am looking into a new digital camera and am looking for suggestions. I am really wanting to get some pic's of deer while hunting that I am not trying to shoot. The camera that I currently own makes more noise than you can imagine, it plays a little tune when you turn it on, and makes a loud noise when the picture is taken[:@]. Obviously this is not going to be an option for getting pic's of deer out of the stand, so those that are getting pic's while in a hunting situation.....What are your suggestions???? What camera are you using???

Onmost of the digital's I've handled, they've had the option to turn off sounds. Older one's did not, but really anything in the past 5 years should easily have that option.

I've had great luck with cheaper Sony CyberShot's (less than $200)lasting several years in nasty outdoor conditions. I also have a Cannon EOS SLR that cost as much as my bow. It goes without saying the wife has never let me take that hunting or fishinig.

Digital camera's are like computers. The top of the line $1500 camera last year...is worth about $500 this year. As long as you have a decent mega-pixel (5-10 is great for 99% of quality needs), and a decent zoom (3-5) you'll be set. You can get something like a 5.1 megapixal and a 4x Zoom most places for sub-$100...online stores even cheaper.

Sony Cybershot if you are going to beat it up, that will go through anything, or an Exlir. Both are over 6.0 mp. IF you are goin top of the line a Canon EOS will blow everything else away.

Thanks Pat, I know mine is many moons old and it does not have the option to turn the sound off....I will be looking to get a higher end camera (not to say money is no object) to get some better features, maybe a higher zoom if that's possible....Hell I might even go with something with interchangable zoom's???? I am just getting into the research phase and will go from there!!!!

Well I am a lucky kid and have many many many cameras that I can choose from.

We have some older ones and some newer ones. I also have a cam corder that takes photos also.

Sometime in June I was at a friends walking in town and I saw the sun glare off something and I just thought it was a peice of broken glass but then I got close to it and it was a freakin digital camera.
I checked the pictures already on it and there was some pictures of some people but they were turned around or something was hidding their face and I had no idea what they were. there was a picture of a Naked blow up doll. and a picture of a army knife. I didn't know the people and I dont think I wanted to know them. When do you find a $200+ item on the side of the road. I just took it and I love it. I use it for just about everything now.
