Default Recent Bucks on Trail Cam

Never seen this dude before. How old do you guys think he is?

He looks like an old deer to me. Big body, short tines, long brows, good mass....what do you guys think?

Also got some more video of the nice 10 pointer that we have been seeing a lot of...

With the way his neck goes right into his back, deep chest. waist is thick and not tapered much. I would say 4.5 or 5.5. Just a guess but all the characteristics of an older deer.

He's old enough to be on my wall

Honestly, I'd say 4.5, his belly isn't sagging much, so I don't think he's older. And his body is pretty full to be anything younger than 4...

Based on the size of his body I would say he's at least 4.5. Great video by the way!!

Wow Michael, that is some awesome video. That buck in photo has got to be 4 1/2. His body is unbeilevable. I'd say he's a little farther along in the rut than the bucks I have been seeing.

good luck on that 10.

Mike

I may be wrong, but I think that's a decent 3.5 year old buck. Definately a good body on him, but I would think if he were 4.5, even though he had shorter tine length, he'd have some more mass. I think you're just a ways north and west of me, and if your conditions are like mine, you have a tremendous white oak acorn crop this year. He may be big cause he's been eating so well. Just my thoughts, but by 4.5 even without tine length, they will have mass......

I looked again....I'm really not sure. He does have that nice brisket flap....combined with the big body he might be 4.5.

You're just gonna have to shoot him and age him by the teeth!
