I went and saw the sports trainer here on campus. I figured why not sinceI got hurt working for that department. Anyway she checked my elbow out pretty thoroughly. It is sprained due to being hyperextended. It also has a pretty good bruise. She told me I should be able to shoot again by early next week. I may push it and try again tomorrow to see if I can bowhunt over the weekend. If it hurts too much I'll take the smokepole.
I have seen her before about an issue with the same elbow. It would get pretty sore after extended shooting sessions. She told me it was tendonitis and gave me some simple stretching exercises to do. It helped tremendously. Because of my past experience with her I trust her. She is not an MD but does have extensive medical training.
I don't know if I would push it too fast. I would rather give up another week than the whole season. Whatever you decide I sure hope it works out well for you and heals quickly.

Thats good news. If it is tendonitis, you will probably aggravate it by shooting but I doubt that it will casue further damage, just extend the "sore" time, at least that was the case for me on a badly sprained wrist the end of last season.
If you can stand the pain, go for it. Easy for me to say, huh?
