Default Bow Choice

Hi everybody!

I am looking at buying a few different bows right now and I thought I would reach out to all of you and get your opinions.

1st bow - Mathews Switchback/Price - $375 bare bow (used)
2nd bow - Mathews Legacy/Price - $350 completely set up (used)
3rd bow - Fred Bear Code/Price - $379 completely set up (new)

I've been bow hunting now for about 20 years, but haven't been in the past 5, so I'm kind of out of touch with the new bows. Owned many Martins and Reflex bows, but never a Mathews or Bear.

Thanks all in advance!

If the Switchback is in good shape, I'd go with it.

The matthews looks (on paper) to be quite a good deal. I hunt with a parker. I would recommend you taking a look at them.

Of those 3, the switchback for sure, it's a steady performer in all areas.

I don't think you can go wrong here. The Code is a little lower quality bow, but I have shot all three and they all will get the job done. The Code actually draws smoother than you would think. My buddy shoots a Switchback and boy is it nice. One think you should take into mind is that youmight not have a lifetime warranty on a used bow. Manufactuers have different regulations, but for the most part used or bows sold online(ebay) void the warranty.

Thanks for the responses guys! Like I said, I've been out of hunting for some time thanks to the "corporate grind", and finally decided grind or not, I'm getting back out there to do something I love.

The two Mathews are both used, and the Bear Code is new. I believe the Legacy is the only one with a lifetime transferable warranty, but man that switchback sure seems sweet! The guy wanted $650 for it with the gear on it, and $400 without. I talked him down to $375, and from my searches on the net...most used switchbacks are going for $600+ with or without gear.

Again thanks for making me feel welcome! Hopefully I can make a contribution back!
