Default Electric Fence?

Was out Saturday morning, had a big 10 follow my tracks, nose down smelling the estrus i had put on my boots, he came across a picked bean field with another 8 point buck, however got to 25 yds, and hung up on the other side of the fence behind thick cover. It hadn't been on the previous time, howeverthis morning the electric fence was on, does this change a deer's mind? Or am i looking too far into it?

How would the deer know the fence was on, or off?

Unless the electric fence was put up in a way to keep deer from getting over it, it does not affect deer movements. They cross the electric fences all the time here.

My preferred spot to hunt at the present with a north wind PM is on the edge of a milo field that has an elcectric fence around it to keep cattle out.

There are are over 20 deer crossing into this field every night without hesitation, including a mature 140 class buck. They simply go under it as it almost wasn't even there. I've yet seen one get bit.

This isn't a avery good pic, but here is a 1 1/2 yo buck going under.

I have seen deer cross this fence numerous times as well, but it was odd because the buck put his head through like he was going to cross, and when he got go his front shoulder pulled out fast. and stared at it. ive never seen that reaction before.
