Last time I was in the woods, I took a walk through some planted pines that lead up to and border a cutover

This area is loaded with sign, rubs scrapes etc etc as well as deer poo everywhere, the pines are 12-16ft tall in most areas so a treesatnd will not work, but i was thinking of taking a top section of one of the ladder stands down there and putting it up ... this will put me 5ft off the ground and a 15-20 yard shot max ... really congested with pine limbs

Do you think it is a worth a shot ?

I would say anything is worth a shot, at least until it proves not to be. I think a good quality pop-up blind would be better, but I have heard and seen hunters try crazier stuff before.
