Busted by nice 8 point

I was hunting in the wind.....probably not the best decision but with temps dropping and some snow flying I figured there may be some action. I sat in my most secluded (out of the wind) stand. Within 45 minutes I look to my left and there is a really nice 8 ten yards away. Never heard him with the wind and have no idea which direction he came from. It is open around my stand but pretty dense 30 yards out. He start walking behind me soI grabbed my bow and when I turned around to look on the other side of the tree He was gone, never heard a snort or a twig crack... like he vanished. I assume he saw me reach for my bow and took off and I couldn't hear because of the wind. Anyway, will he still use that area or is a deer scared off once they spot a hunter and not going to go back. I would say he was a 140 class had about 12 or 13 inch g2s, would love to see him again.

I think these types of situations have far to many variables to accurately assume one thing or another. I am of the opinion that anything is possible, he might have got freaked right out and wont think about frequenting that area again for the rest of the season. However, he could be standing under your stand right this moment wondering why your not there to shoot him. If i can guess, id say what happened is not detrimental to your chances. Id get back after him as soon as you can.
