Default Little chasing in NJ

Yesterday morning it was a chilly 28 degrees and I was in my tree by 6:10 am and in the darkness I could hear deer on the leaves all around me. There was some chasing going on for sure. As the woods began to get light, I watched 7 different bucks come by my stand and countless does. In addition to watching them all hit several scrapes near my tree, I saw some smaller bucks locking up and shoving as well. All of the bucks I saw early were small ones, but about 7:45 there was one about 50 yards out who came in as soon as I hit the rattle horns a bit and grunted to him. He come right in and was a good buck, big body nice 7 point rack. And Iam ashamed to say, I missed him. My arrow went right over his back, and he took a hop, looked around, then slowly walked off, not spooked. I hate a miss! But I guess it happens.... not often thank God, but yesterday was that buck's lucky day. All in all... what agreat morning hunt!

Default RE: Little chasing in NJ

Thursday morning about 7.50am I watched 2 bucks pushing a doe who all she wanted to do was eat

The only problem wasI was at work and never had a bow with me, plus this all was in a new housing sub division, they where on the edge of the road and passed by my truck at about 8 yards, I got out of the truck, they still did not spook, the smallest of the bucks looked at me for a couple of mins then looked back at the others and trotted off after them and gave the larger buck a little tap in the side only to have the larger buck give him a whack back

I did take a couple of pics with my phone but I was looking back into the early morning sun so all I got was some pics of the sun[:@]

It is great to see them start to hit the scrapes and follow the does around. The time is near for sure.
