Default Michigan Doe Down!

Last night it finally happened, freezer meat #1 met up witha slick trick!

Yesterday was one of those days, I was sitting at work thinking about the woods. I kept sneaking astep outside every chance I would get, to see the stiff north breeze and to feel the COLD air...finally about 2:30 I couldn't take it anymore and asked my boss if I could sneak out 2 hours early and he said, "get outta here and kill a deer!",I was happy to make the attempt to do just that...so after the drive home to get my gear and the truck(wife had the truck to get groceries) i made my way out to the farm. I was situated and enjoying the breezy chilly afternoon by 4:30. After an hour of sitting with that wind blasting me straight in the face I dug out my scentlok headcover. I absolutely hate wearing that thing due to how hard it is to hear through it. About 35 minutes later I thought I heard a limp snap behind me - downwind....off came the headcover and I stood and turned to see that direction better. After 10 minutes I saw some movement coming up the creekbottom - a doe and 2 yearlings- BINGO!!! I had told myself that I was going to take the next mature doe or decent buck I saw so I went into pretador mode at this point. A few moreseconds and a yearling cleared my shooting lane, then a bigger bald head, dont remember drawing my bow really but I remember hitting anchor, thinking aim for the exit - CRACK!!! She fell right over, the voice inside screamed SPINE CRAP SHOOT again, I made the next shot and it was over. End result below:
