What are the winds going to be like? Where do you think they bed? Where do you think they are eating? Where have you seen them at this time of the year before?

winds are typically left to right on the picture. deer are mostly browsing on acorns, persimmons, and browse. they bed throughout the area - its mostly open woods.

Josh..here is a link to a simple topo map of your area:

Looks like you have some big watersheds around your area.

Oak flat bedding area stand is my choice. I think you can get down there through the clear cut and set up as those deer move back to the bedding area in the morning. Cant wait and I hope you take that stand.

The oak flat/bedding area stand is one of my favorites. Its set on top of a ridge thats loaded with acrons. To the right is where they feed at night (over grown field), and the bed on the next ridge behind the stand, in a THICK briar area. Access is fairly easy as well, I park at the base of the powerline, and walk right to the ridge, then an old logging road takes me within 20 yards of the stand.

They dont necesarrily bed in the field, but you need a south wind to hunt it. And its most of an evening stand, since you go through the field to access the stand
