1st thing I do is clear out everything I can in the blind. ( weeds, sticks, grass)And I don't use a chair. I will sit on my knees or a pad that way if something does happen to come by a different window I can adjust. I've tried moving a chair and it just limits the space and has too much movement if it needs to be moved. Less there is in there, the less noise and and obstacles to work around.

Well, I will tell you if mine works. I just set it up tonight at the head of a rubline in the shadow of some haybails beside a small stream. I do not plan to use it for a little while I wanted to give the deer a chance to get used to it and my scent to leave the area. I set it on the edge of the timber because its hard to get shooting lains in the woods that I hunt. Ill let you know if it works.

What i do is i leave out the blind so the deer are used to it, sit on the ground not in a chair, sit or neal while shooting

and have the back window's blacked out and i also wear black so i blend in to the background of the blind. i dont think its that much harder than sitting in a treestand, just different.

Are you talking about a pop up blind or a natural brush blind? If a pop up, what kind are you using?

I have a eastmens carbon venture magnum. I love it. I set it up twice the night before and left it over night. I am on public land so leaving it up all the time is a bad idea. I set it up before dark wait till dark then leave. I have yet to have it stolen.
I use a 5 gallon bucket seat with a swivel seat. I plan to get a better chair next year the bucket hurts my back. brush it in good. I got lucky where i set up yesterday i did not need to brush it in. The area was so thick i just pushed the weeds down and cut out some lanes. I had a doe come 10 yards right by me on the open bean field side. She was spooked out of the woods came right by me then down wind. Did not see me nor smell me.

Also I took out all the shoot through mesh. I open all the windows i might get a shot through. Today two where left close due to no shot through the brush.

I like the pop up i am a big guy and use stands but i feel better on the ground.

I have hunted out of the doghouse for a few years and I love it. Make sure you practice drawing back and not having your elbow hit the blind. I usually draw my bow back with my arrow pointed towards the ground in the corner and then move up to the window. I sit on a 5 gal and do not use the shoot through windows i think they make a noise when you shoot through them. Also you should look into getting one of these they work great http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...amp;hasJS=true. I will have 1 maybe 2 windows that I can shoot out of. Any more than that you will have to much light coming in and the deer will see you moving. Make sure you practice shooting out of the blind so you do not get out there and realize that you are sitting up to high and can only shoot about 4 ft in front of you. (I found that out this year when my dad set up my blind for me a few days before I got up north) But I love hunting on the ground I would suggest it to anyone who has not tried it.
