You are a Hoyt insider . . . . I'm glad they kept the Katera. What is so special about these new Alphamax bows? I see they are a little lighter. Speed seems to be about the same as the Vectrix. Do they offer something special in terms of smoothness, generous valley, etc.?

Solid lineup just does nothing for me.

The Alphamax has a long limb pocket giving it kind of a center pivot design along with new limbs and cams.

I suspect it will be a real shooter for a hunting bow and be deadly quiet and smooth.

And, if I'm reading it correctly, the cams are modular adjust, which means they aren't necessarily draw lenght specific.

Camo gives these bows a whole new look. Depending on how they shoot, I might just be up for a black/camo mix for this year....

but then again, Ill likely never sell my current bow, and I could do a DIY out of state hunt for the cost of a brand new bow setup...heck two hunts for an entire package setup. Guess Ill just stick with my current guns, well bows I guess, until I have 7-800 bucks just fall in my lap.
